Here at OnFarm, we know all farmers are different. We grow different plants, we have our own unique instincts, and importantly we see our farm data differently. We wanted to provide the most customizable experience through our app to meet the way you run your operation. We have many ways to customize your OnFarm experience so that you don’t get lost in the numbers of your own farm data.
Are You In Control Of Your Farm Data?
When you first sign-up for OnFarm, you get to lay out your farm structure by adding your fields. Maybe you’re a really large operation and you need more organization. We have built-in tools to allow you to enter your structure as a hierarchy. This will help you organize by region. You can break everything down as far as needed. We have some farmers who break things down into rows while others will draw boundaries for larger parcels of land. You’re in control when it comes to what makes the most sense with your operation. We don’t believe in a cookie cutter solutions and aim to provide our users with the most customizable experience possible.
How do we bring your farm data together?
We all work with different software and hardware. OnFarm was created with the purpose of bringing all that data together. Allowing you to pull in data from all your different hardware and software providers is the core of OnFarm. Why log into numerous different systems all with different interfaces and sift through farm data. I’m sure that is a hassle no body wants. You can view all that data in one place with our easy to use visuals. We already have numerous partners that we have integrated with and are always working to integrate with more. See a partner missing from our list that you work with? Let us know and we’ll do our best to get them integrated.
Once you’ve set-up your field structures and you’ve connected your data, you can set-up your dashboards in the way that makes the most sense for your operation. Again, this will be very similar to fields. You can organize your dashboards by region, function, crop, etc. Some growers organize by crop so they compare data across their regions. Some growers organize by function such as soil moisture, irrigation, etc. This allows you keep each unique process on your farm organized.
Only see the most important data with your customizable widgets
After adding your dashboards, you can begin adding widgets. Widgets are what display only the most important farm data that you want to see. For example, a single-stream widget would display one data stream such as your six inch soil moisture data stream for Block 3 on Field 7. We also have multi-stream widgets which allow you to display multiple data streams such as all the soil moisture sensors for a single probe. You can add as many widgets as you’d like to each of your dashboards. We offer different size widgets to help you maximize your preferred display.
The importance of our widget settings
Here’s where the customization really shines. We have numerous features available in our Settings section. You can add in your unique soil profiles, track planted crops and acreage, change the units that are displayed for your data, set alerts, and filter data to name a few. We are all about fitting to your specific needs. We even have some settings that are unique to users. Say you have one user who likes seeing everything in Celsius while another user prefers Fahrenheit, we are built for these differences.
